AAD Functional Safety Senior Engineer

Location: Shanghai-New Bund

The Opportunity 

 

The role will be based within the Functional Safety and Cyber Security Center Of Competence, and dedicateds to achieve safe and secure Assisted and Automated Driving Product. 

With the increasing complexity of Autonomous Driving Feature, safety and security is on the top of users’ concerns list when decide to transfer their control of the vehicle. Improving regulation and industrial standard on safety and security area on the other hand raises higher compliance requirement to AD product. 

The Role is to assist Functional Safety Lead Engineer define and create the associated safety and security artefacts within Jaguar Land Rover regarding to the given Assisted and Automated Driving feature in accordance with ISO26262 ISO21448 and ISO21434. The role focuses on delivering and confirming advanced solutions with partners providing various sub-level components and ensures product compliance in safety and security. 

The role will require a customer focussed individual who can apply the functional safety, SOTIF and security standards in area of Assisted and Automated driving features. Ensuring aspiration is matched with JLR’s vision of Zero Road Traffic Incidents.   

 

Key Performance Indicators 

  • Delivery of FUSA and Cyber Security Artefacts & Requirements to Programme Gateways 

  • Creation of Vehicle Level Safety / Security Goals Associated to AAD Features 

  • Decompose top level safety and security requirement to Physical Commodities 

  • Define proper activity with supplier within Development Interface Agreement 

  • Engineering Sign Off at the appropriate programme gateway 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

  • Developing/Maintaining Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) 

  • Developing/Maintaining Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) 

  • Developing/Creation SOTIF Safety Analysis (e.g. STPA) 

  • Developing Impact Analysis, in case of design changes 

  • Developing Functional Safety Concepts and system safety requirements on logic level 

  • Developing/Supporting creation of Technical Safety Concepts on physical level 

  • Developing countermearures to threats 

  • Supporting System Safety Analysis (e.g. FFA, FMEA) 

  • Supporting the creation of System Architecture 

  • Supporting test creation 

  • Preparation of documentation for vehicle releases and product compliance 

  • Solving functional anomalies and security risk management across product lifecycle 

  • Collaborating in interdisciplinary project teams at international level 

  • Following company standards, international safety standards and development process

Knowledge, SKills and Experience 

Essential: 

  • The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and a strategic thinker.​ 

  • Proven experience in deliver high quality work products under supervision. ​ 

  • Knowledge of Customer Quality Process and Metrics 

  • Experience of working in a functional safety or cyber security related development project 

  • Experience in Systems engineering developing ADAS, active safety or AD features 

  • Knowledge or experience in ADAS hardware and/or software component 

  • Knowledge of System Engineering process 

  • Knowledge of Safety and Security standard (ISO 26262 / ISO 21434 / ISO 21448 etc.) 

  • Familiar with formal structured development process (ISOTF 16949, A-SPICE) 

 

Desirable:  

  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering 

  • Working knowledge in data analysis 

  • Working knowledge in system defect analysis 

  • Working knowledge of Customer Quality Process and Metrics 

  • Knowledge of Virtual Validation including Driving Simulators would be advantageous. 

  • Working Experience of AGILE methods
