System Integration Lead Engineer

We are building out a digital platform which is central to Jaguar Land Rover’s digital strategy.  The right candidate will have a central role to the development of this digital platform within the vehicle cockpit domain, how it grows and iterates over time, and how the teams that deliver it do to. The Cockpit team in China are gaining greater responsibility to deliver tailored and bespoke features and experiences to the most discerning of Chinese Customers. 

 

We’re looking for a System Integration Engineer to facilitate, shape, and design our China Voice delivery in JLR. You'll support the team in solving difficult problems, uncovering challenges, managing relationships, and ensuring our deliveries drive and exceed our standards e2e. 

 

This role is a unique opportunity to help define, support and grow the localised voice capabaility, platform, and roadmap within cockpit at Jaguar Land Rover. You’ll be working closely with our multi-disciplined teams with opportunities to learn and enhance your career. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities  

  • Support and lead all Voice integration activities – Local supplier, Global supplier, In-house software. 

  • Manages/leads defects at core level to ensure XCL quality, includes coordination between System and interfacing commodities for root cause investigation 

  • Responsibility for delivering the system or software being developed to meet the business requirements on time with appropriate quality and at the right cost 

  • Support the planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes and Cycle Plan studies, using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles in conjunction with other company processes as required 

  • Contribute to the negotiation and agreement of targets for the modules and ensure all programme deliverables  are tracked, monitored, delivered and reported accurately and on time at each gateway and organise and lead appropriate interim review events 

  • Support colleagues in conflict and issue resolution within the Centre of Competence and across functions 

  • Work towards the  Centre of Competence performance and facilitate or escalate cross module / cross Centre of Competence problem resolution on all programme aspects of content delivery, including virtual build, physical build and launch support 

  • Manage and develop external communications and status reporting, providing a coherent status for senior management

Knowledge, Skills and Experience  

We’re keen to talk to people with the following skills and experience:  

  • Experience in managing agile delivery through multi-disciplinary teams in a CE/CI/CD environment  

  • Proven experience in delivery within Voice – end to end architecture and launch. 

  • Familiar with multiple voice suppliers 

  • Experience working with and supporting the major roles and functions of Product Development teams, including Product Managers, Product Owners and Analysts  

  • Familiar with vehicle communication network, incl. CAN, Flexray, Ethernet, etc. 

  • Knowledge of infotainment architecture 

  • Working knowledge of Android OS in Automotive 

  • Proven technical knowledge related to the system being delivered  

  • Experience of developing technical requirements specifications and associated test plans  

  • Experience of planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles  

  • Experience of delivering technical products through a team, utilising strong people management skills 

  • Experience of delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment    

  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels  

  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred 

 

 

The following skills and experience are a bonus:  

 

  • Participate in variety of software and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) testing including unit testing, integration testing, bench end to end testing and in-vehicle test. 

  • Deliver quality software by involving in architecture, requirements, design, code, and test case reviews. 

  • Support manufacturing requirements analysis and development 

  • Consider quality and safety critical functionality and understand electrical and computing risks that arise from working on Embedded System. 

  • Knowledge / experience of JIRA and Confluence
