On-Board Software Architect

The Opportunity 

As a SW System Architect, you’ll be part of the On-Board Architecture Chapter. You’ll be responsible for the coordination of architecture, interfaces and requirements activities and support the team in case of critical technical delivery issues in your product group/domain. 

Day to day, you will be supporting the software development of the solution architecture for a product, with a specific focus on APIs creation. You will be working with the architects from the other squads to ensure interfaces are well defined and dependencies between the squads are clear and resolve architectural or development issues. You’ll be active in the management and mitigation of technical risks, ensuring that the requirements can be realistically delivered by the underlying technology components. 

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the future technical strategy of the product and be influential in the development of the Software platform and features for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles across the range, with a focus on a China-specific solution.

• Overseeing and supporting the assessment of solutions excellence to core KPIs

- Generation and curation of system and vehicle wide requirements  

- Architecture design and generation with evidence of technical feasibility 

-  APIs production, both inside the sub-system and outside

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

Essential: 

• Knowledge across several programming languages, including C/C++  

• SW development in one of: embedded, automotive, aerospace, transportation SW 

• Requirements Analysis 

• UML Design 

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience 

• Experience in APIs production 

Desirable: 

• Knowledge of networking systems and protocols

• A good communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders (In English)
