The Opportunity
Jaguar Land Rover is leading the way with initiatives to improve the customer experience through the use of vehicle data to manage, update and improve the car. We are looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meets our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with one or more programming language and will work with developers and other engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility:
- Lead on Production Issue deep investigation and resolution, analyse and report on production events escalated from Tier 2 operation team.
- Communicate recommended mitigating actions as part of the incident response process.
- Perform post incident lessons learned and root cause analysis.
- Define and implement monitoring of business transactions, application, webservices etc.
- Reporting on production events in periodic summative intelligence reporting.
- Identifies operational problems by observing and studying the functioning and performance of systems.
- Provides operational management information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing operating and engineering trends.
- Plan and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Analysing production data for improvements and optimization.
- Assist with various projects to define operation requirements.
- Develop operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and testing alternative approaches.
- Develop test automation tools (smoke/regression/Integration tests)
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Operation playbooks for use.
- Oversee and work to optimize the operational processes, design more efficient workflows.
- Develop scripts/tools to automate operation tasks and improve ops visualization.
- Contribute to CICD and DevOps practises.
- Support agile delivery ceremonies.
- Support and mentor Junior team members to drive continual improvement in incident/problem management and product design.
- Provides support 24x7x365, as required/scheduled.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- 5+ years IT related experience
- 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
- Experience of working within an agile delivery environment and/or DevOps techniques and practices
- 3 years of experience of at least one major cloud provider （AWS, AliCloud, Azure）
- Familiar with at least one programming language (Java, Python, Go etc.)
- Familiar with container orchestration, virtualization, Microservice related technology.
- Familiar with Devops toolsets, such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
- Familiar with basic IT technology, such as network, security, webserver, database etc.
- Strong understanding of operations, services, and applications
- Strong analytic, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good at communication and reporting
- Capability to do researching by himself/herself.
- Team spirit
- Flexibility in working occasional unsociable hours to support business critical requirements (e.g. out of hours Incident response, anomalous outages, etc).
- Ability to provide technical mentorship to security team & DevOps community members.
Desirable:
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field is preferred.
- Previous involvement in all stages of the software delivery lifecycle is preferred.
- Experience in Auto industry is preferred.
