AAD Test Environment Senior Engineer

Location: Shanghai-New Bund

This role is within the Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) Verification & Validation (V&V) team, part of Electrical Engineering. The role will focus on the integration of the end-to-end sub-system software's that make up our AAD feature set. 

Day to day as a senior engineer you will be influential in a small team (technical discipline) to plan and prepare test properties for test and certification, troubleshoot hardware/software issues and provide functional integration for all ADAS features. These features include Lateral & Progression, Parking, Maneuvering and Vision and others. In addition, this role will require a working knowledge of all ADAS features, problem solving and functional test techniques. 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

  • Working with local partners, you will be responsible for organising maintaining of vehicle and kit in each location. 

  • Responsible for the documentation including processes are peer reviewed and up to date 

  • Follow and provide feedback for defined AAD V&V processes  

  • Responsible for maintaining known software configurations on the AAD Robustness Vehicle Fleet 

  • Responsible for the creation and improvement of Integration processes 

  • Responsible for the delivery of known good ADAS Software Configurations 

  • Be responsible for working with our suppliers that receive the data collected, planning the routes and processes to get the data item distribution, and put processes in place to track and deliver this distribution. 

  • Support issues resolution effectively and efficiently. 

  • Ensure safe operational conditions of data acquisition systems in prototype and production vehicles. 

  • Develop and deliver technical documentation, user manuals and training to our internal customers.  

  • Work closely with the wider Assisted and Automated Driving V&V area to ensure integration and scalability of our solution.  

  • Contribute to data acquisition systems design, development and deployment. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • Technical expertise and experience of ADAS feature set including sensors and actuators 

  • Experience with multiple stakeholder interaction  

  • Structured problem-solving skills within a technical environment 

  • The ability to prepare, validate and challenge processes relating to technical topics 

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH and SDS 

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents. 

  • Experience prioritising and work levelling based on team capacity and priorities 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English 

  • Hold a driving license with a clean record in the past 2 years and no disqualifications. 

Desirable : 

  • Experience with AGILE frameworks (SCRUM, Kanban or SAFE) and planning tools such as JIRA and Confluence 

  • Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification. 

  • Conflict management experience  

  • Experience of testing on proving grounds. 

  • Knowledge of instrument calibration processes 

  • Project management experience and/or qualification  

  • Educated to Degree level in a Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field.
