IVI System Int & Test Lead Engineer

Location: Shanghai-New Bund

Based within DPP (digital product platform) Centre of Competence, and part of the In Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) department Validation and Verification function, this role is to be a leader of the team responsible for Test Plan, including Test Strategy, definition and execution. 

 

System Test Lead Engineer demonstrates exceptional system functions understanding based on system requirements analysis and excellent System Testing knowledge to define strong Test Plan & Strategy.  System Engineers are supported in defining reliable system requirements by System Test Lead Engineer driving requirements review process.  

System Test Lead Engineer’s deliverables defines the verification and validation of Vehicle Cockpit features in Entertainment, Voice, Navigation, Media and Smart Cabin domains. 

Main focus of this role would be leading the activities for Test Plan and Test Strategy definition and execution. System Test Lead Engineer ensures that defined V&V process is followed and adjusted when needed. 

 

The role will also include leading definition of level of automation and requirements for test tools (logging equipment, Hardware in the Loop benches, automation tools…), applying appropriate Test Techniques (Dynamic & Static), Test Design & Implementation. 

 

Key Performance Indicators 

  • Quality of defined Test Plan & Test Strategy 

  • Progress on V&V delivery against Test Plan in terms of Schedule 

  • Tier1 V&V artefact quality 

  • Number of analyzed requirements and quality of inputs for reviews provided to System Test Engineers 

  • Level of achieved Test Automation 

  • Quality of defined Test Tools requirements by System Test Engineers 

  • Appropriate Test Techniques applied. 

  • Test documentation quality provided by System Test Engineers 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for system requirements analysis, reviews and improvements process. 

  • Responsible for IVI Functions System Test Plan/s and Strategy/s definition. 

  • Responsible for defining & applying high levels of test automation. 

  • Responsible for defining Test Tools requirements: logging equipment, Hardware in the Loop (open/close loops), automation tools etc. 

  • Responsible for applying appropriate Test Techniques (Dynamic and Static). 

  • Responsible for leading Test Design & Implementation (Test Cases). 

  • Responsible for achieving full requirements coverage. 

  • Leading Test Results reviews and Test Data analysis. 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • 5+ Years' experience developing and architecting test system solutions and frameworks. 

  • 5+ Years’ experience working with embedded software architectures and devices. 

  • Experience with In-the-Loop XIL testing methodologies MIL, SIL and HIL. 

  • Experience of development of XIL Solutions that adhere to product development teams to test JLR products. 

  • Updated with latest offerings/roadmaps from dSpace, NI, Vector etc. 

  • Experience using agile work items tools such as JIRA for Task Management and Confluence for documentation. 

  • Knowledge of Agile, continuous integration and deployment with exposure to GitLab CI/CD, Jira. 

  • Be comfortable to propose technical & challenge concepts to stakeholders across engineering. 

  • Committed team player, self-motivated, flexibility, with strong social skills. 

  • Good communication, organization and presentation skills. 

  • Exposure to behavior-based testing approaches. 

  • Exposure ISTQB/ISO29119. 

 

Desirable : 

  • ISTQB foundation – Advanced Level Test Analyst or/and Test Manager. 

  • ISO26262 standard knowledge. 

  • Exposure ISO26262 (Tool Qualification)
