OUTLINE OF ROLE/SITE

Jaguar Land Rover’s Global Digital Development group works with internal engineering groups, external vendors, and the open source community to identify and integrate emerging technologies into future vehicle product lines. Every day we work to close the gap between fast paced, highly available cloud services and the multifaceted challenges of a rolling, embedded platform. We work closely with embedded systems tools, silicon-to-pixel CI/CD toolchains, and higher-level languages to craft and build initial versions of production software that can be scaled out to other offices and external vendors for completion.

We believe the world of web services and data-driven applications can advise how embedded systems need to evolve. We are working to extend our customers’ user experience in modern portable devices to include their vehicles.

We are based in the Portland, Oregon office.

DAY TO DAY

• Design and deliver automated software production systems and platforms to meet desired user experience, functional, and security requirements
• Lead the management and maintenance of software build and automation infrastructure
• Drive the utilization and adoption of software infrastructure by development teams
• Lead coordination with Product and Project management teams, designers, and other development teams to ensure all workstreams utilize infrastructure platforms and their feedback is collected for future platform development
• Lead technical guidance in the ideation, discovery, and scoping processes in creating and grooming our pipeline of projects 
• Establish and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders and technical experts to support project execution
• Drive a rapid release strategy across all dependencies
• Train and support teammates, providing mentorship and guidance to support all team members performing up to expectations
• Perform other duties as required

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required 
• 5+ years technical experience as a SW developer preferably with highlight available/scalable applications[EJ1] [RC2] 
• Experience working with versioning systems and branching strategies
• Experience managing and maintaining integrated test suites, build pipelines, and other software infrastructure
• Experience with scripting languages and process (e.g. Python and Bash)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform, Hashicorp stack)[RC3] [PS4] 
• Cloud engineering knowledge with GCP, AWS, Azure, or other platforms
• Experience driving adoption or implementation of DevOps methodologies
• Leadership experience, aligning teammates to execute against shared objectives
• Experience with GitLab and Artifactory (JFrog) highly beneficial
• Experience with Kubernetes highly beneficial[RC5] 
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and business presentations
• Knowledge of modelling tools such as Rhapsody desirable
• Familiarity with ASIL, ISO26262 ASPICE, AutoSAR standards desirable
