HV Battery Electrical Lead Engineer

 The Opportunity

The main purpose of this role is to support the design and development of components and solutions for a global Test Platform.

This platform is intended to be used on autonomous vehicles and advanced control systems to class-leading infotainment, cloud-connected features and integration of consumer electronic technologies, not to mention the opportunity to drive advanced prototype vehicles.

In China, due to the local law and regulation especially with regard to data restriction, the solution needs to be adapted, modified or even re-deployed in a compliant environment.

This Role will lead the test platform product design and development in China to keep the consistency of the global test platform and meanwhile will contribute to enable the V&V activities and increase the V&V efficiency in China for all DPP domains

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Product Impact & Scope of Innovation:
  • Responsible for development of software testing frameworks targeted for local and cloud deployment.
  • Responsible for the design of SW test frameworks to enable the verification and validation of functional and non-functional Autonomous Driving requirements.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong capabilities for integration/implementation/automation of test frameworks with a customer-centric approach.
  • Exposure in the Software Development Life Cycle, V-Model, Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment with exposure to GitLab, CI/CD and Jira.
  • Strong experience with different “In-Loop” XIL test methodologies, such as:
    • Model-In-Loop (MIL)
    • Software-In-Loop (MIL)
    • Hardware-In-Loop (HIL)
  • Programming skills in Python, LabView, and range of languages to support prototyping Test Platform Technology’s
  • Experience on embedded software architectures and devices such as AUTOSAR, RTOS, Posix OS.
  • Knowledge on CI/CD infrastructure (e.g. Docker, Ansible, Linux) and patterns.
  • Proficient in the analysis and implementation of customer requirements.
  • Knowledge on validation and automation of testing frameworks.
  • Proficient in problem solving and debugging.

• Problem Solving:
  • Issue resolution is a key skill and software is often the quickest but most complex to understand due to its lack of physical nature. It is critical that the role can use extensive theory-based problem solving as repeating defects is often very time consuming and difficult, so being able to develop a list of theoretical root causes and be able to eliminate these through analysis / test is fundamental.
• Planning and Scheduling:
  • Contribute to the improvement of our test infrastructure and frameworks by building tools and processes.
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Retrospectives and any Agile related events.
  • Operate in Agile environment, confidence in speaking publicly.
  • Participate in product requirement and design reviews.

• Internally: working within DPP across multiple workgroups and cross-functional teams. Helping to develop processes and tools required for Autonomous Driving validation and verification.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• 5+ Years' experience developing and architecting test system solutions and frameworks.
• 5+ Years’ experience working with embedded software architectures and devices.
• Experience with In-the-Loop XIL testing methodologies MIL, SIL and HIL.
• Experience of development of XIL Solutions that adhere to product development teams to test JLR products.
• Updated with latest offerings/roadmaps from dSpace, NI, Vector, specifically around Autonomous Driving applications.
• Experience using agile work items tools such as JIRA for Task Management and Confluence for documentation.
• Knowledge of Agile, continuous integration and deployment with exposure to GitLab CI/CD, Jira.
• Be comfortable to propose technical & challenge concepts to stakeholders across engineering.
• Committed team player, self-motivated, flexibility, with strong social skills.
• Good communication, organisation and presentation skills.
• MBSE principles and experience in describing systems using SysML
• Exposure to behaviour-based testing approaches.
• Exposure ISO26262 (Tool Qualification)
• Exposure ISTQB/ISO29119.
