The Opportunity

Product Information(PI) sits within Product Engineering Operations team and responsible for vehicle specifications configuration and Bill of Material releasing. The mission statement of Product Information is transforming product intent into usable product information/data. Our objective is to deliver the right information to the customer at the right time.

 

Product Information China is a branch of UK Product Information, we are a small team but have lots of interactions with various stakeholders across the organisation.

 

In the Product Information Manager role at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), you will be responsible for successful PI implementation on all Jaguar and Land Rover projects produced in China.

You will oversee the PI planning for prebuild and launch on those programmes, work with cross functions to ensure the required inputs are delivered on time to support the PI workstreams.  You will directly manage an in plant head supporting validation and build and will liase daily with UK JLR teams to feedback and understand progress to plan.

 

You wil be responsible for PI metrics and reports, and for the development of business processes that make a dynamic contribution to our company’s future plans. Always ready to offer guidance and direction to our engineers.

Excellent PC skills are also essential, with a particular focus on the Microsoft Office suite of software.

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Ensure the MEP (Managing Expectation Plan) is aligned with UK PI planner and JV
  • PI quality check of Marketing & Engineering input documents to support Coding
  • Lead LMM pack review
  • Lead PI Sprint Planning Meeting
  • Support feature and BOM validation for China programmes
  • Support PI Analyst in managing AIMS (Automotive Issue Management) resolution
  • Manage Car Configuration File ruleset plan/issues
  • Oversee the Change Management Process issues
  • Provide PI solution for ad hoc requests such as urgent supply chain issue, cost reduction, etc
  • Able to identify process gap and create new processes where applicable

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successful PI implementation on all Jaguar and Land Rover projects produced in China
  • Lead local team of Product Information Analyst at Changshu Plant
  • Provide Product Information training, coaching and support to China Engineers
  • Oversee and drive all operations required to deliver the JLR cycle plan products – leading IT, MP&L, MFG and Programme to identify new interfaces enabling successful delivery
  • Process leader for JLR China PI team to ensure processes are robust for global consumption
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Background and previous experience in Automotive Industry
  • Good understanding of Bill of Material and Vehicle Specifications
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills 

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Agile mindset, principles & approaches
