ROLE PROFILE

The Opportunity

The role will be within the newly created Assisted and Automated Driving Calibration team, which will have the responsibility for the calibration and fine tuning of future ADAS systems within Jaguar Land Rover. In line with the agile set-up of the project, the Calibration Lead Engineer will be part of the Calibration team/chapter, but will be deployed in the product squads which will include cross-functional competences linking Electrical Engineering (Digital Product Platform) and Chassis departments. The agile squad is focused on a specific ADAS feature, develops control systems and delivers software design and calibration for existing and future Chassis, Electrical, ADAS Motion Control, and various new technologies for enhancing the driving experience and working towards the goal of autonomous driving.

The role is leading the calibration of next generation ADAS motion control systems using the vehicles, rigs and virtual environments within a team specialised in the creation and deployment of ADAS motion control functions, with the purpose to achieve best in class attributes and “robustly” meet the most stringent global standards. The control systems delivered cover a wide range of autonomy from ADAS level 1 to ADAS level 4: this includes the calibration and verification of ADAS features in the Cruise, Active Safety, Parking and Manoeuvring and Vision domains.

The responsibilities of the role include review of system requirements, check of Software implementation, testing of control functions in the vehicle and on the simulation environments, calibration of the control functions and software modules on prototype ECUs, de-bugging in virtual and physical environments such as the vehicle, ensuring that suitable libraries and calibrations are delivered to support all development and production releases.

Calibration Lead Engineer demonstrates exceptional AAD functions understanding based on system requirements analysis and solid System Testing and Calibration knowledge to contribute in defining strong Calibration Test Methodology, Plan & Strategy

The role will also include defining level of automation and requirements for calibration and test tools (logging equipment, Hardware in the Loop benches, automation tools…), applying appropriate Calibration and Test Techniques (Dynamic & Static), Test Design & Implementation (Design of Experiment).
